State symbols of Uzbekistan

State flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Law “On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted on November 18, 1991 at the VII extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The national flag and its symbol embody the historical connection with the ancient states on the border of modern Uzbekistan and embody the national and cultural traditions of the republic.

The blue color of the flag is a symbol of the eternal sky and life, reflecting the meaning of life. In symbolic language, this means good, wisdom, honesty, glory and devotion. Consequently, the color of the flag of the state of Amir Temur was blue.

The white color of the flag is a symbol of the sacred world, which is combined with the light of the day and the lights of the universe. White is a symbol of purity, innocence, purity, purity of dreams and fantasies, striving for inner beauty.

Green is a symbol of nature renewal. It is a symbol of youth, hope and joy in many countries.

The red lines represent the streams of life force flowing through our bodies.

The image of a young crescent is associated with our historical traditions. At the same time, it is a symbol of our independence.

The stars were considered a sacred, divine symbol for everyone. The image of 12 stars on the state flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan is also directly related to our historical traditions, our ancient annals. Our attention to the twelve stars is also explained by the development of astrology in the scientific thinking of the ancient states on the border with Uzbekistan.

The image of 12 stars on our national flag should be understood as a symbol of the antiquity of the culture of the Uzbek people, their striving for perfection and happiness in their land.

The state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan consists of an image of the sun shining over a blooming valley, and a wreath with ears of wheat on the left and open bowls with cotton on the right.

An octagonal star is depicted at the top of the coat of arms as a symbol of the unity of the republic: a crescent and a star inside the octagon are the jubilee symbols of Muslims.

In the center of the coat of arms are the wings of the legendary bird Humo, a symbol of generosity, nobility and devotion. These symbols and emblems reflect the desire of our people for peace, goodness, happiness and prosperity.
